I'm currently partnering with a leading workplace design and build consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join its growing London team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business with an international presence, renowned for delivering innovative, people-focused workplace environments for a diverse portfolio of blue-chip and global clients.
The Opportunity As Design Manager, you will take ownership of workplace design projects from concept through to completion, leading multidisciplinary teams to create high-performing, engaging environments that align with client objectives and business needs.
You'll play a key role in shaping design strategy, mentoring designers, managing client relationships, and ensuring design excellence is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead workplace design projects from briefing and concept development through to delivery.
Manage and mentor internal design teams, fostering collaboration and creativity.
Develop innovative design solutions that balance functionality, aesthetics and commercial objectives.
Present design concepts and proposals to clients and key stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with project managers, consultants and delivery teams.
Ensure design intent is maintained throughout all project phases.
Manage project programmes, resources and budgets effectively.
Support business development activities, pitches and client presentations.
Stay informed on workplace trends, sustainability initiatives and emerging design practices. Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience in a Design Manager, Senior Designer or similar leadership role within workplace interiors, commercial fit-out or design & build environments.
Strong workplace design expertise with a portfolio demonstrating project leadership.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Experience managing and mentoring design teams.
Strong commercial awareness and project management capabilities.
A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
