Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract
Rate: £350-£400 per day (negotiable and dependent on experience)

Company Overview: Join our leading engineering and construction firm, renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Manager to oversee the design aspects of a significant substation extension, replace and rebuild project in Carlisle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate the design process for the substation rebuild and replacement project.
* Oversee all aspects of design including fit-outs and facades, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop detailed design plans.
* Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
* Lead design meetings and workshops to resolve design issues and ensure alignment among all stakeholders.
* Provide technical guidance and support to the project team.
* Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
* Monitor and report on design progress, addressing any potential delays or issues.
* Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the design team and other project disciplines.
* Manage design changes and ensure proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
* Assist in the procurement of materials and services related to design aspects of the project.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Design Manager on infrastructure projects, with a focus on fit-outs and facades.
* Strong knowledge of substation design and construction processes.
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
* Excellent understanding of construction standards, regulations, and best practices.
* Strong project management and leadership skills.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
