Role: Design Manager – RC Frame Mulitroom Schemes, up to £70 million

Location: Sheffield and Nottingham, UK
Type: Long-term Freelance or Permanent
Salary: Competitive and Commensurate with Experience

About the company:

A market a leading construction company specialising in large-scale residential projects. Their focus is on delivering high-quality Private Rented Sector (PRS) or Student Accomodation schemes using Reinforced Concrete (RC) frame construction. They are currently expanding their operations in Sheffield and Nottingham and are seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager to join their dynamic team.

Position Overview:

As a Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the design process for our projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that design deliverables meet project specifications, quality standards, and are completed within budget and on schedule. Key Responsibilities:

* Design Coordination: Manage and coordinate all design activities from concept through to construction, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.

* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve design objectives and address any design-related issues.

* Quality Assurance: Ensure that all design work is of high quality and adheres to industry standards, building regulations, and best practices.

* Budget and Schedule Management: Monitor design progress against project timelines and budgets, identifying and addressing any potential delays or cost overruns.

* Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support to the design team, ensuring the effective integration of RC frame construction methods.

* Documentation: Prepare and review design documentation, drawings, and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Education: Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in design management, with a strong background on similar projects. Ideally experience with RC frame PRS schemes.

* Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.

* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building regulations, construction methodologies, and industry standards.

* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex design concepts to various stakeholders.

* Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a multidisciplinary design team.
