AMP8 Framework | Heavy Civils & Wastewater Infrastructure

Salary: £75,000 – £90,000+ DOE

Package: Car Allowance or Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme | Pension | Holidays | Excellent Career Progression

An Exciting Opportunity to Build and Lead a Growing Civils Design Team

An established and rapidly expanding civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager or Senior Design Manager following a significant increase in secured workload across the AMP8 framework.

With a substantial pipeline of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects, the business is investing heavily in developing its own in-house civil engineering design capability.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to join at a pivotal stage of growth, take ownership of major infrastructure schemes and play an instrumental role in shaping and developing a new civils design team.

The Opportunity

You will take responsibility for managing and coordinating civil engineering design across major AMP8 water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from pre-construction through to delivery.

Working closely with operational teams, project managers, external design consultants and key stakeholders, you will ensure designs are technically sound, commercially viable, buildable and delivered to programme.

Importantly, this role offers the opportunity to help establish and grow an internal civils design function, with genuine scope to progress into a senior leadership position as the division expands.

What We're Looking For

Experience as a Design Manager, Senior Design Manager or Design Lead within civil engineering.

Previous involvement in AMP6, AMP7 or AMP8 frameworks would be highly advantageous.

Strong experience in heavy civils, wastewater treatment works, sewage treatment plants, pumping stations or major water infrastructure projects.

A good technical understanding of reinforced concrete structures, earthworks, drainage and below-ground infrastructure.

Experience managing multidisciplinary design consultants and coordinating technical design deliverables.

Knowledge of design management, buildability reviews, technical assurance and CDM regulations.

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

The ambition to help develop and grow an in-house civil engineering design team.

Candidates with a strong heavy civils background outside the water sector will also be considered.

Salary & Benefits

£75,000 – £90,000+ basic salary, dependent on experience.

Company car allowance or electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.

Company pension.

Annual leave entitlement.

Long-term secured AMP8 workload.

Genuine opportunity to help build an in-house civils design division.

Excellent career progression and future leadership opportunities.

A key role within an ambitious, well-established and expanding contractor
