Design Manager

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to provide professional expertise in managing, monitoring, and developing the technical design for one of the region's flagship schemes, the £300 million Arena project in the City of Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

* Technical Design Management: Oversee the development of the technical design to meet employer requirements, standards, and regulations within time and budget constraints.

* RIBA Stages 4-7: Ensure the delivery of coordinated design and technical information through RIBA stages 4-7, maintaining quality, time, and cost standards.

* Contractor Proposals: Assist in formulating contractor proposals for inclusion in the building contract.

* BREEAM Excellence: Support the BREEAM process to achieve the required 'Excellent' rating.

* Value Engineering: Identify and discuss value engineering options at all design stages.

* Buildability Focus: Ensure design delivery prioritizes buildability and operational efficiency.

* Company Processes: Implement company processes and exhibit behaviors that align with YTL's ethos of "Building the Right Thing" for continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience: Minimum 15 years of design management experience.

* Project History: Proven track record of working on major projects with a main contractor.

* BREEAM Knowledge: Detailed working knowledge of BREEAM standards.

* Technical Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with technical design tools and software packages, including CAD software, Autodesk, advanced word-processing, and spreadsheet packages.

* 4 Projects (Viewpoint) Expertise: Detailed understanding and working experience with 4 Projects (Viewpoint).

* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
