Design Manager

Overview

The Design Manager is responsible for coordinating and assuring design activities across multiple projects within the Great Grid Partnership portfolio. Working closely with project, planning, commercial and design teams, you will ensure design outputs are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage design programmes and monitor progress.

* Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and stakeholders.

* Ensure compliance with client, industry and CDM requirements.

* Manage design changes, risks and technical assurance processes.

* Support tender submissions and pre-construction activities.

* Drive collaboration, continuous improvement and best practice.

Requirements

* 8+ years' design management experience.

* Background in HV substations, overhead lines, cable routes or similar infrastructure.

* Strong stakeholder and project management skills.

* Knowledge of National Grid standards and transmission projects desirable.

* Degree qualified and professionally accredited preferred
