Design Manager – Harlow
Ridgeway & Co Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to join an established main contractor delivering construction projects in Harlow, Essex.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring architectural, structural and building services designs are fully coordinated and issued in line with project programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager with a strong construction background to join an established contractor, offering a competitive salary of £90,000 - £100,000 per annum and the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects.
Responsibilities
*
Managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.
*
Coordinating architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants and specialist design consultants.
*
Developing and managing design programmes, submissions and approval processes.
*
Identifying, managing and resolving technical design issues throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Ensuring design information is coordinated, approved and issued in line with construction programmes.
*
Working closely with site management, commercial teams and project stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
*
Reviewing design information for compliance with building regulations, project specifications and relevant standards.
*
Monitoring design progress, managing design risks and ensuring key project deadlines are achieved.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Design Manager within a main contractor environment.
*
Strong background in construction projects.
*
Excellent understanding of architectural, structural and M&E design coordination.
*
Experience managing external design consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
*
Strong knowledge of construction-stage design management, technical approvals and building regulations.
*
Ability to identify and resolve design issues while maintaining programme and quality requirements.
*
Relevant architectural, engineering or construction qualification preferred.
*
Full right to work in the UK.
