Great opportunity for a Design Project Manager / Design Manager working with a major civil engineering contractor based near Redditch in the West Midlands
This is a hybrid role
My client is involved on the Capital Delivery Framework Severn Trent Water undertaking renewal and refurbishment projects
You could be working as a Design Project Manager, Design Manager, Technical Manager or Engineering Manager
Responsibilities of the Design Project Manager
* Produce designs, including calculations, specifications and layouts, which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the client and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively.
* Carry out tender bid analysis for various items of plant.
* Carry out subcontractor or third-party design reviews until these are accepted.
* Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
* Carry out site surveys, including asset condition surveys as necessary.
* Compile design budget estimates, design deliverables schedules and provide feedback for proposals department as necessary.
* Complete deliverables on time and to budget and where necessary manage the deliverables of others to ensure deliverables dates and budgets are maintained.
* Manage/monitor the work of others in the organisation or project team as necessary, including checking and/or reviewing their work.
* Liaise with other disciplines with the organisation or the project team to ensure that all design elements are fully integrated.
* Ensure that designs take account of sustainability and environmental issues
Role Requirements for Design Project Manager
* Degree/HNC level qualification in a relevant engineering subject
* Experience of delivering multi-disciplinary design/construction projects
* Good technical understanding of water and wastewater processes and asset types
* Experience in setting out and surveying
