Description:
We are recruiting for the position of Design Manager with a London-based client. The successful applicant will need to create and provide design plans for the company's projects. These designs must meet the company's needs, follow the law, and be up to the best standards. The design manager will also handle researching, scheduling, and adding new services to the company as the Directors decide. Part of the job is to bring in new and better ways of working, make installations easier, and keep up with technology and industry trends by working with suppliers and others in the field.
Accountabilities:
System Designs:
Create security system design proposals aligned with employer requirements.
Validate security system designs based on issued specifications and drawings.
Enhance security system proposals for improved performance at equal or reduced costs.Augmenting service:
Develop initial scope documents for introducing additional services.
Consider all aspects when creating project timelines.
Deliver training and knowledge to company members.
Establish design, technical, and quality standards.
Manage certifications and approvals related to legislation.Innovation
Improve system performance using existing and emerging technology.
Optimise installation practices on-site.
Continuously assess industry trends and competitors.Group Initiatives Group Initiatives:
Collaborate with Group department personnel for cross-functional solutions.
Enhance information management and sharing.
Migrate to an ERP and database environment.
Access and produce necessary information.
Design internet-based company and technical content.Technology Process
Evaluate and present emerging technologies to company leadership.
Develop a proposed technology roadmap.
Propose technical changes or additions to the business offering .Client & Partner Liaison
Maintain regular and documented communication with key clients and industry partners.
Understand their current and evolving requirements.
Research and develop solutions for implementation by the operations team.Team Management:
Oversee design and technical executives to ensure timely delivery of designs, technical information, and solutions.
Allocate workloads to team members.
Conduct appraisals and foster personal development.
Manage performance and schedule technical training for company staff.Estimating Liaison
Collaborate with estimating personnel to understand technical requirements for incoming tenders.
Provide advice on design, integration, equipment, and alternatives.
Clarify and address design issues.
Offer technical support for accurate tender submissions.
