Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Engineer specialised in MAGMASOFT to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will drive the development and optimisation of casting processes through advanced simulation techniques, ensuring high-quality, efficient manufacturing solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge and system design skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment dedicated to engineering excellence.
As the Design Engineer you will be required too :
* Build, run and interpret MAGMASOFT simulations for new and existing castings
* Support Magmasoft simulation (implementation and coordination of Magmasoft activities)
* Analyse simulation results to predict any likely defects and recommend any design changes that need to be made
* Support the quotation and new business process
* Liaise with the customers design engineers to provide simulation based feedback
* Maintain and update MAGMASOFT material and process databases
* Produce technical reports, drawings and presentations with simulation findings for engineering and production.
Requirements:
* Experience using MAGMASOFT/MAGMA 5 or an equivalent software
* A background in a foundry/casting environment
* Experience of gating, feeding and risering system design
* Familiar with Casting defect analysis and root cause investigation
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Attention to detail and a methodical approach
