Description:
We are supporting a leading manufacturer of metal products in their search for an additional Design Engineer to join the team. This business is independently owned and well established in their sector, they have grown organically over the last 40 years. As Design Engineer you will be responsible for the lifecycle of designed projects. This involves surveying customer sites and completing calculations and design to their specifications. You will be involved with DFM and see each project through to delivery. The business uses SolidWorks and requires an engineer with extensive experience of sheet metal design. This role is office based, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Core duties include:
Conduct Site Surveys: Establish project feasibility by assessing site conditions and requirements. In the UK and Abroad.
Develop Concepts and Prototypes: Translate customer requirements into innovative concepts and working prototypes.
Design Sheet Metal Parts and Assemblies: Create detailed designs for sheet metal components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
Produce Technical Drawings: Generate accurate technical drawings, including folding and welding instructions, to guide manufacturing processes
Populate Bills of Materials: Compile comprehensive bills of materials, detailing parts and manufacturing processes required for productionThis is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a healthy order book and a reputation for quality engineering.
