Job Description - Design Draughtsman  
Location: Fakenham 
Salary £28000 - £35000 per year, dependant on experience

Technique Recruitment Solutions has teamed up with a specialist in the Design and Manufacture of Manual and Powered Lifting Equipment in Fakenham, offering a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Design Draftsman or a  good starter role for a graduate or similar with some practical / industrial knowledge and experience to join their rapidly growing and well-established company.

Outline
A full-time mechanical design draughtsman is required to ensure that all project specific parts, assemblies and documents are available for production when required, allowing the scheduled manufacture of products on time, within budget, to a high standard.  

This is an excellent opportunity for a designer looking to develop their skills and knowledge with an expanding manufacturer of innovative electromechanical systems across a wide range of industries.

Key Skills 
•       A sound understanding of mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of machined parts, fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork.
•       The ability to quickly and effectively create part and assembly drawings in accordance with BS8888 for internal and external customers.
•       The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects. 

Other Skills
•       Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar,
•       Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
•       Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
•       Able to work as part of a small team
•       Excellent communication skills 

Specific Duties 
•       Creation of detailed drawings of custom parts, suitable for manufacture.
•       Source supplier quotes for custom made parts, within timescale and budget for project.
•       Procurement of custom made and project specific parts, within timescale and budget,
•       Creation of BOMs for special products,
•       Creation of assembly drawings / work instructions for manufacture,
•       Creation of custom manuals and other technical documents, where appropriate.
•       Supplier liaison, to ensure required parts are available when requested and to communicate information on shortages / delays to production in a timely manner,
•       Workshop liaison, working with Workshop Supervisor to assist in the planning and execution of production such that sales orders are fulfilled on time, to the right specification and quality
•       Maintenance of Drawings for continuous improvement of standard product.
•       Occasional assembly, as required, to enable review the design and manufacture of parts and subsequent improvement.
•       Other duties as may be reasonably required by the company to fulfil position
