Platinum Search Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, education, industrial, heritage, blue light and leisure sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Design Coordinator to join their Main Contracts team, working on projects valued up to £15m across the Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and North London.
This is a standalone design role, providing full design support to our preconstruction team through tender and to our project delivery teams through to completion. Reporting to the Main Contracts Director, you will coordinate the design process – including full design, Design & Build schemes and Contractor Designed Packages under JCT and NEC contracts – working with consultant design teams to ensure designs are technically compliant, buildable and delivered in line with the project programme, budget and client requirements.
Skills & Experience
* Experience working for a main contractor, coordinating or managing the design process across projects ranging from £1m to £15m in value
* Experience of full design and Design & Build schemes
* Experience managing Contractor Designed Packages (CDP) under JCT and NEC contracts
* Strong technical knowledge across a range of construction methods and building types
* Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
* Knowledge of CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act
* Confident coordinating multiple design consultants and stakeholders simultaneously
* Proficient in Power Project (or similar planning software) for developing design programmes
* Familiarity with BIM/Revit-based design coordination (desirable)
* Well organised, with excellent prioritisation, attention to detail and communication skills
