Qualified Teacher: £31,350- £42,689

Unqualified Teacher: £21,933- £33,464

Salary: £29,344- £44,919

Part-time or Full-time

Start: ASAP or September 2024

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, engineering, and technology, with experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. The DT Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging curriculum content, fostering creativity, and providing guidance and support to students as they explore the world of design and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging curriculum content for DT courses, including areas such as product design, engineering principles, and digital fabrication.
Teach practical skills in woodworking, metalworking, electronics, CAD/CAM software, and other aspects of design and technology.
Foster creativity and critical thinking through hands-on projects and design challenges.
Provide guidance and support to students as they develop their own design ideas and projects, from concept development to prototype creation.
Integrate interdisciplinary concepts and real-world applications into the DT curriculum.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate DT education with other subjects and interdisciplinary projects.
Stay current with industry trends and developments in design, engineering, and technology.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, Technology Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Previous teaching experience, preferably in design and technology education.
Strong knowledge of design principles, engineering concepts, and technology tools and techniques.
Experience with woodworking, metalworking, electronics, CAD/CAM software, and other relevant technologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity and pursue excellence.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
