Role Overview: As a Design and Technology & Food Technology Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and innovative lessons across both departments. Whether igniting students' creativity through hands-on design projects or exploring the art and science of food preparation, you will inspire a love for learning and practical skills development. Your passion for your subject, coupled with your ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, will drive academic excellence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver dynamic lessons in Design and Technology and Food Technology, incorporating both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate the varying learning styles and abilities of students.
Assess student progress effectively through formative and summat assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of curriculum materials, schemes of work, and enrichment activities.
Engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress and promote a positive home-school partnership.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Specialism in either Design and Technology or Food Technology, with demonstrable expertise in the subject area.
Experience teaching Design and Technology and/or Food Technology at the secondary level (desirable).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Flexibility and willingness to cover lessons in both Design and Technology and Food Technology departments as needed.
