Deputy Service Manager (Domestic Abuse Service Manager)
Location: Shropshire
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and refer appropriate cases to MARAC. Make decisions on access to safe accommodation spaces.
Support Provision: Offer emotional and practical support, including safety planning, support through legal processes, and welfare rights. Facilitate access to resources such as doctors and social services.
Transition Support: Aid the transition from refuge to independent living through our resettlement service and support moves to alternative refuges when necessary.
Public Awareness and Liaison: Raise awareness about domestic violence and our services, and liaise with a wide range of agencies including Social Services, Housing Providers, Schools, Solicitors, and Police.
Service User Feedback: Ensure regular opportunities for service users to provide feedback and use this information to improve services.
Case Management: Conduct regular case management reviews and maintain thorough, confidential, and up-to-date client records.
Key Performance Measures:
- Up-to-date and appropriate support plans and reviews.
- Appropriate caseloads per officer.
- Efficient processing of referrals and effective management of the waiting list.
- Adherence to the clients procedures in line management of colleagues.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Understanding of domestic violence dynamics, social legislation, and welfare systems.
- Excellent communication, literary, and administrative skills, including proficiency in IT, data collection, and report writing.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Experience in frontline services supporting individuals in crisis and working in a non-directive and empowering manner.
- Familiarity with safeguarding, child protection, GDPR, and health and safety responsibilities.
- Flexibility in working hours and ability to be on call as part of a rota.
Qualifications:
- Professional qualification in a relevant field.
Key Relationships:
- Collaborate with doctors, social services, housing providers, schools, solicitors, police, and other voluntary and statutory sector agencies to support clients.
