Position: Deputy SENCO / SENDCO

Location: Enfield, North London

Salary: £34,514 – £51,178 (MPS / UPS – Outer London)

Contract Type: Permanent, full time

Start Date:  ASAP

About the role

Vision for Education are proud to be working in partnership with a multi academy trust in North London to recruit a Deputy SENCO for one of their secondary schools.  This role would suit teachers who are passionate about SEND and looking to begin the transition from a classroom teacher to SENCO position.  This Deputy SENCO role will still include some classroom teaching.

The school has an above average number of students with an EHCP, and the successful candidate will be joining a fantastic and dedicated SEND team who are committed to meeting the individual needs of all learners.

The main purpose of the role is support the development of the new Nurturing Provision and develop a school wide SEND provision that will remove barriers to learning for students with SEND.

Responsibilities of this Deputy SENCO role include:

To support with access arrangements
Lead small group interventions
Maintain up-to-date information for SEND
Support the development and running of the Nurturing Provision where required
Early identification and referral to external agencies for assessments
Support the SENCO in ensuring the effective management of the SENCO budget

Requirements for this Deputy SENCO position include:

Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS and 2+ years teaching experience
NASENCO qualification (or willingness to complete it within first 3 years)
Knowledge of curriculum with a proven ability to differentiate effectively
Ability to establish and maintain high quality planning and recording
Good inter-personal, communication, planning and organisational skills.
