Location: Poole, Dorset
Hours: 40 hours
Salary: £13.30ph - £27,600 per annum

Toni at Amber Mace is currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join the team in Poole, who support young adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex needs. The service is owned by one of the UK’s leading learning disability care providers. They have a fantastic team and are looking for the right person to join them as Deputy Manager to grow with the service and also the company. The company has an excellent reputation within the area and consistently strive to ensure the provision of the highest quality service to their service users. The residents like to help with meal planning, cooking, cleaning, activity planning, socialising and gardening on a regular basis. Some of the people they support go on work placements and particularly enjoy this independence

As Deputy Manager you will be an enthusiastic and passionate individual with a responsibility for management, support and direction of care within the home. You will support the Home Manager and will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of residents, ensuring a high standard of care is provided for residents and will take charge of the Home in the absence of the Registered Manager.

Role Requirements of Deputy Manager:
• Support and deputise for the Home Manager in their absence
• Assist the delegation of workloads and care resources
• Assist with training of new staff
• Support the management team
• Ensure high care standards are met on a daily basis
• Maintaining the safe custody, administration and storage of medication
• Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
• Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient/resident engagement

Qualification/Skill Requirements of Deputy manager:
• MUST have Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care
• Previous experience with Learning Disabilities/Complex needs
• Experienced in leading and managing a team as a Senior/Team Leader/Deputy Manager
• Ability to undertake day to day running of the home under the direction of the Home Manager
• Must have a strong working knowledge of CQC standards
• Good business acumen and the ability to manage the home in the absence of the Home Manager
• A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice
• Excellent communication skills
• Leadership skills
• Resident in the UK - sponsorship is NOT provided
