Deputy Manager

Salary: £37,000–£41,300 plus Ofsted bonus

Bright Selection is recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join an Outstanding-rated four-bed children’s residential home supporting young people affected by complex childhood trauma.

The young people are settled but may display behaviours related to their previous experiences, including difficulties around family contact and risks of going missing. They are active and energetic, so the home needs a Deputy Manager who enjoys engaging young people in sports, activities and positive experiences.

This is a hands-on role, split approximately 50% between management responsibilities and direct work with the young people. The successful candidate will support the Home Manager in continuing to develop the culture and stability of the team.

The role will include:

* Supporting the day-to-day running of the home

* Leading shifts and deputising for the Home Manager

* Providing direct care and therapeutic support

* Supporting safeguarding, care planning and regulatory compliance

* Supervising, mentoring and developing staff

* Assisting with rotas, audits and quality assurance

* Creating positive activities and experiences for the young people

* Supporting the continued development of the staff culture

Essential requirements:

* Level 3 Residential Childcare or Children and Young People’s Workforce

* At least two years’ experience within a children’s residential home

* Previous senior or supervisory experience

* Experience supporting young people affected by complex trauma

* Strong safeguarding knowledge

* The ability to lead shifts and remain actively involved in direct care

* An energetic, resilient and child-focused approach
