Job Title: Children's Home Registered Manager

Reports To: Quality and Performance Director

Location: Wakefield, WF1

Salary: Basic £55,000

Sign Up Bonus: £3,000

Hours: 37.5 Hours Monday To Friday

As the Registered Manager, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our children's home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to the children in our care.

The successful applicant will be a highly experienced Registered Manager with a proven track record of achieving and sustaining Outstanding or Good Ofsted ratings within children’s home previously for children aged 8-18. You will be proficient in the leadership supervision and appraisal of a staff team including safer recruitment, as well as understanding of trauma, mental health challenges, and therapeutic interventions to provide holistic and individualised care for the young people in our care and working to all necessary legislation including Ofsted guideline.

We are seeking a Registered Manager who can effectively liaise with outside agencies, Ofsted, LA, and Reg 44. We seek an individual who is always striving to achieve successful ratings for the home, young people and organisation, a track record for this is prerequisite. We will also consider a Deputy Manager, minimum of 2 years management experience and qualified to Level 5 in Leadership Management. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, driven and motivated individual with a passion for achieving the best outcomes for children and young people who enjoys the autonomy of setting up and running their own home.

Key Responsibilities:

* Kead and manage a team of dedicated staff to provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for highly complex children.

* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures to maintain a high standard of care and safeguarding for all children.

* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development within the team to enhance the quality of care provided.

* Lead a team of staff in the delivery of high-quality care and support to the children and young people living in the residential children's home.

* Develop and implement care plans and risk assessments, in consultation with the children and young people and other professionals.

* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the service, ensuring that outcomes for the children and young people are positive.

* Participate in safer recruitment and selection of staff, ensuring that the right people are employed and that they are trained and supported to deliver high-quality care.

* Work closely with the Directors to develop and implement strategies that will enhance the service and ensure that it meets all regulatory requirements.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that all reporting requirements are met.

Person Specification:

Essential:

NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare, or equivalent.

At least 2 years management experience in a residential home setting.

A “Good” or “Outstanding” rating within your recent Ofsted inspections.

A commitment to working in partnership with children, young people, their families and carers.

Ability to lead and manage a team of staff.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.

Understanding of the regulatory framework for residential children's homes.

Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.

Knowledge of therapeutic

A driving license and access to a vehicle.
