Deputy Editor - Travel Media - London/Hybrid. 35K-38K.  We're looking for a talented individual to help shape the editorial direction of two leading travel publications across print, digital and multimedia platforms. Responsibilities include contributing to newsletters and podcast production, as well as representing the organisation at industry and consumer events.

This role can also involve supporting a varied programme of live events, including conferences, roadshows and awards ceremonies. The successful candidate will have opportunities to present, host and moderate sessions, while helping to deliver engaging events that strengthen audience engagement and industry relationships.

Deputy Editor Key Responsibilities:

·         Produce engaging and original editorial content for both print publications and digital channels.

·         Source exclusive stories outside the standard news agenda and conduct interviews with influential figures across the sector for publication across multiple platforms.

·         Support senior editorial staff by planning, writing, assigning and refining content to meet each publication's editorial objectives.

·         Take responsibility for editorial oversight and daily operations whenever senior editors are unavailable.

·         Assist with the production and presentation of an industry-focused podcast, sharing hosting duties and working alongside the production team to identify and secure suitable interview guests.

·         Build and maintain strong professional relationships with industry contacts, commercial partners and the wider readership.

·         Contribute to the organisation and delivery of conferences, awards programmes, special publications and other projects designed to strengthen brand engagement.

·         Represent the organisation at national and international exhibitions, conferences, media events and industry press trips.

·         Research, develop and write news, consumer and lifestyle content, including features covering current affairs, travel, style and product recommendations.

·         Create, commission and edit sponsored editorial and commercial content while supporting client relationships throughout the production process.

·         Manage bespoke commercial publishing projects, taking ownership of editorial planning, contributor coordination and the successful delivery of content within agreed deadlines. 

Deputy Editor Skills and Experience Required:

Previous editorial or journalism experience, ideally within travel, cruise, hospitality or B2B publishing.

Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills.

Strong interviewing and networking abilities.

Experience producing content across print, digital, newsletters and social media.

Confident presenter with an interest in podcasting or live events.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Commercial awareness and experience producing branded or sponsored content would be an advantage.

A proactive, creative approach and a genuine passion for travel and the cruise industry.
