Job Title: Deputy Design Authority - Electronics

Location: Hampshire - Hybrid & Flexible working is available

You should apply if you are a Lead electronics Engineer, Principal Electronics Engineer or Chief Electronics Engineer, who is involved in the full lifecycle of the design of Electronics sub-systems from board level design/component selection through to the finished product in the Defence sector.

Overview:

The Deputy Design Authority for Electronics will play a critical role in overseeing and supporting the design authorities responsible for sub-systems within an underwater weapon system. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex development projects across the full lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Lead Design Reviews: Conduct peer and design reviews for electrical and electronic sub-systems.
Electronic Circuit Design Support: Assist engineers in detailed electronic circuit design, including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and collaboration with PCB design teams.
Design Verification: Utilize simulation, analysis, and test techniques to verify designs. Provide support during EMC testing and customer installations.
Documentation and Reporting: Generate design documentation and technical reports.
System Integration: Support integration activities across the entire system.
Problem Solving: Apply technical expertise and engineering experience to address technical issues as they arise. Qualifications:

Education: Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering.
Experience in the Following Areas:
Generating component-level electronic designs for volume production.
Digital design (processor interfacing, memory devices, PLD interfacing, UARTs, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc.).
ADC/DAC devices and techniques.
Analogue design (op-amps, transistor-level design, control loops, low noise techniques).
High-power techniques.
Design proving activities (ensuring compliance with environmental requirements, including EMC).
Appreciation of mechanical design.
Substantial experience in design proving, integration, and defect resolution.
Gathering evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety.
Rigorous approach to safety aspects associated with high-power/high-voltage equipment.
Previous experience in a defence or high safety integrity environment (preferred).Disclaimer:
