About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to join their leadership team at one of their care homes in Uxbridge supporting both their dementia and residential residents. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven, hands-on care professional who is ready to take the next step into a senior leadership role, working closely with the Home Manager to deliver outstanding, person-centred care.

You'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home leading by example on the floor, supporting and developing your care team, and ensuring every resident receives the highest standard of care, dignity and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Home Manager in the overall leadership and operational management of the home, deputising in their absence.
Lead, supervise and motivate care staff, ensuring rotas, staffing levels and skill mix meet residents' needs at all times.
Champion person-centred dementia care, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed and tailored to individual residents.
Support the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of care staff.
Conduct supervisions, appraisals and performance management discussions with team members.
Monitor and maintain compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding procedures and all relevant regulations.
Support audits, inspections and quality assurance processes, helping drive continuous improvement.
Build strong, trusted relationships with residents and their families, handling concerns and feedback with empathy and professionalism.
Manage incidents, accidents and safeguarding concerns in line with policy, escalating appropriately.
Support effective management of the home's budget, including agency usage and staffing costs.
What Our Client is Looking For

Proven experience in a senior care role (Senior Carer, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or similar), ideally within dementia and/or residential care.
NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care as a minimum; Level 5 (or working towards) is desirable.
Strong working knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding procedures and current care legislation.
A genuine passion for dementia care and improving residents' quality of life.
Confident leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families and external professionals.
Flexibility to support on-call duties and provide hands-on cover when needed.
A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding care
