My well established client provides premium plant hire products and solutions to a diverse customer base, underpinned by industry-leading 'best in class customer service.'
My amazing client is recruiting a Hire Manager/Assistant Depot Manager to further strengthen their depot team and support their growing business. Reporting to the Depot Manager, this key role will be running their Hire Desk to ensure they deliver their vision 'to provide the best customer experience in the plant hire industry.'
You’ll have a great work ethic, be able to react to ever-changing priorities, work with minimal supervision, and have a big sense of humour!
We are looking for a strong communicator to build new customer relationships and maintain existing ones, motivate and manage their hire team, coordinate transport, quality control their hire team’s work, and help implement their organizational innovations.
Key Responsibilities
Build New Customer Relationships and Maintain Existing Ones
Ensure the hire team provides a high level of service.
Identify new business opportunities.
Process orders during busy periods.
Handle customer complaints and queries.
Coordinate Transport
Provide a key link between drivers and office staff.
Troubleshoot driver challenges and schedule transport.
Coordinate and Quality Control the Hire Team’s Work
Coordinate hire team work schedules and leave.
Inform hire decisions in line with logistical and commercial objectives.
Spot check emails and data entry.
Ensure team members are working in line with policies and processes.
Provide Enthusiastic People Management of the Hire Team
Motivate and support team members day-to-day.
Build great working relationships, a positive team culture, and a seamless workflow.
Deliver training and coaching to team members.
Support Wider Standard Plant Hire Operations and Improvements
Interview hire team candidates.
Run the Depot in the absence of the Depot Manager.
Communicate hire and driver recruitment and training needs to senior managers in good time.
Report on the hire team’s quality control measures (non-conformances, missed orders, and driver paperwork completion) to senior managers.
Inform and support organizational initiatives to improve customer experience, quality, and productivity.

Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience using any hire database software.
Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication, including attention to detail.
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong ability to motivate, influence, train, and coach the team.
Ability to make decisions based on commercial and logistical goals, or enthusiasm to learn.
