Democratic Services Officer - 6 Month Contract

Vivid are working with a local authority in the West Midlands who are looking to bring a Democratic Services Officer into their team on an interim basis.

You will be given the opportunity to work on a hybrid arrangement, for a locum rolling contract with a strong likelihood of extension.

The Role:

· To coordinate, organise and attend meetings and committees for various legal areas including but not exclusively to planning, licensing and scrutiny

· To prepare meeting agendas ahead of relevant committee meetings

· To take minutes during committee meetings

· To ensure the smooth running of Member meetings and decision-making and to provide all of the necessary information needed for meetings and decision-making

· To manage and deliver the servicing of Council, Cabinet, Committees and Sub-Committees in their decision-making processes

· To contribute to and prepare relevant reports

· To make sure all decisions are made in accordance with the Council framework and statutory requirements
