Bulk Bag / Waste Collections Van Driver – Leighton Buzzard
£28,000 Basic + £1,000 Bonus + Overtime at Time & a Half
Monday to Friday | No Weekends | 40 Hours Guaranteed
We’re looking for an experienced Van Driver to join a growing business in Leighton Buzzard.
Please be aware: this is a very physical, heavy manual-handling role. It is not just a driving job.
You’ll spend your day driving to homes and businesses to collect bulk waste bags and large skip bags. The work involves regular lifting, pulling, moving and loading heavy waste and materials, often outdoors and in all weather conditions.
You need to be physically strong, fit and comfortable with heavy manual work throughout the day.
What You’ll Get
* £28,000 basic salary
* £1,000 performance bonus
* Overtime at time and a half after 40 hours

The Job
You’ll work independently, completing collection routes around the local area.
Your duties will include:
* Collecting bulk waste bags and large skip bags
* Regular heavy lifting, pulling and manual handling
* Loading and securing waste safely
* Driving between customer sites
* Carrying out daily vehicle checks
* Completing collection paperwork
* Keeping the van clean and safe
* Providing good customer service
* Following health and safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
You’ll need:
* Previous commercial van driving experience
* Full UK Driving Licence held for at least 12 months
* Maximum 6 penalty points, depending on the offence
* A good level of strength and physical fitness
* To be comfortable doing heavy manual work every day
* Good communication and customer service skills
* To be reliable, professional and safety-conscious
* To be happy working independently and outdoors
Important
This is a demanding physical job.
You will be regularly lifting, pulling, moving and loading heavy waste, getting in and out of the van throughout the day and working outside in all weather.
If you are looking for a job that is mainly driving, this role probably won’t be suitable.
