We have a rare opportunity available for a Defence Journalist, based in Chelmsford offering a salary of £24’000 with an annual performance bonus of £6000 on top, plus benefits.

As the Defence Journalist you will be working for a company established in 2009, who have grown to become one of the leading providers of intelligence, insight and debate serving the global defence community. Their portfolio of market leading events is curated and chaired by leading figures from the armed forces community, who offer a unique insight into how global armed forces are addressing the challenges and evolving threats in the ever-changing international arena.
Their Marketing team is re-writing the event marketing playbook, defining new ways to engage their audiences and challenge conventional thinking. Having undertaken a digital transformation of their online channels, they are now custodians of two uniquely positioned digital platforms with global reach. Their Production team works closely with leading figures from global armed forces and academia, gaining unprecedented access to their unbiased opinions and unrivalled operational experience. As the Defence Journalist you will work across both divisions, collaborating with their Production team and their connections to curate insightful content and then leveraging their marketing channels to empower their audience with intelligence and qualified opinion. Your responsibilities will include spotting and covering news events as they unfold, driving major stories forward, live event reporting and post event analysis. There is also scope for pursuing longer features and investigations.
