My local authority client is currently seeking a skilled Decarbonization Professional for a temporary position. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing the local authority's sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to reduce carbon emissions across local authority operations.
Conduct comprehensive energy audits and assessments of council properties and facilities.
Identify and prioritize decarbonization projects, including energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy solutions.
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including council members, contractors, and community groups, to drive sustainability initiatives.
Monitor and report on progress towards carbon reduction targets, providing regular updates to senior management.
Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and standards.
Requirements:

Proven experience in decarbonization, sustainability, or a related field, ideally within the public sector.
Strong knowledge of energy efficiency measures, renewable energy technologies, and carbon reduction strategies.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct detailed energy assessments and develop actionable plans.
Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Relevant qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, energy management, or a related discipline.
