Deburrer / Linisher

Location: Manchester
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Deburrer / Linisher to join our clients manufacturing team. Working within the finishing department, you will be responsible for preparing and finishing a range of precision-engineered metal components to the required quality standards before inspection and dispatch.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in a precision engineering, fabrication, aerospace, automotive, or general manufacturing environment who takes pride in producing high-quality finished components.

Key Responsibilities:

Deburr and finish machined and fabricated metal components using hand and power tools.
Operate linishing and polishing equipment to achieve the required surface finish.
Remove sharp edges, burrs and machining marks while maintaining dimensional integrity.
Work from engineering drawings and job instructions where required.
Carry out visual inspections to ensure components meet customer quality standards.
Use a variety of finishing equipment including hand grinders, orbital sanders, files and abrasive wheels.
Ensure components are cleaned, labelled and prepared for the next stage of manufacture.
Report any defects, damaged components or quality concerns to the Team Leader.
Maintain a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S and health & safety procedures.
Support continuous improvement activities within the finishing department.
Skills & Experience:

Previous experience working as a Deburrer, Linisher, Metal Finisher or Fettler within a manufacturing environment.
Experience finishing steel, stainless steel or aluminium components.
Ability to use a range of hand-held finishing tools safely and effectively.
Good attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
Able to read basic engineering drawings (desirable).
Experience working to tight tolerances would be advantageous.
Good manual dexterity and practical skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
