Are you an experienced Database Administrator ?
Do you have cloud experience in AWS or Azure ?
Would you like to work in a role that you will also be involved in Database development ?
My client is a fast growing Saas provider who have created a number of effective tools and services.
You will be reporting into the Head of Data and will be securing and operating their databases, making sure the data is correctly stored and retrieved. You will also be working with the Database Developers in the design & implementation of new features.
This role can be fully remote however you must already be based in the UK and have the right to work with no Visa sponsorship needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Ownership of your work and take pride in its quality
* Database administration and the flow of data from AWS services
* Support with data engineering activities and deployments
* Perform development on data cleaning using SDLC approaches
* Investigate and drive optimisation of data processes and performance
* Actively participate in team meetings
* Undertake any other ad hoc duties as and when requested/required
Your experience should include:
* Experience in a similar role
* Experience working with some or all of the following dbm systems Snowflake, MySQL, DBT.
* Experience of relational database management and development work outside of Database Administration.
* Working experience of cloud-based systems, AWS, Azure or equivalent.
* Worked in a team with developers in Agile approach
* Researched and implemented a change in approach on refactoring or optimizing outdated approaches
* Good understanding of data security
* Attention to detail
Advantageous skills:
* Experience with Python
* Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools
* Working experience with APIs and development
