Are you passionate about legal matters and data protection? A leading insurance company is looking for a Legal & Data Protection Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring we meet all legal and regulatory obligations, with a special focus on data protection.

This role is Hybrid, home working is available but you must be able to travel into the office 2 days per week.

In the role you will be responsible for:

Data Protection:

Act as the first point of contact for Data Subject Requests, ensuring compliance with Data Protection Legislation.

Maintain a register of all Data Subject Requests.

Communicate with stakeholders to respond to data subject requests promptly.

Advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments.

Assist in drafting and reviewing data protection policies and procedures.

Support the maintenance of the Company Record of Processing Activities.

Stay updated on data protection practices and propose necessary changes.

Legal:

Assist in drafting and monitoring contracts.

Maintain a register of legal cases.

Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments, proposing necessary changes to policies and practices.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

Certified knowledge or experience in Data Protection.

Knowledge or experience in legal matters (desirable).

Up-to-date with ICO developments and best practices.

Strong decision-making skills, deadline-oriented, with a customer service focus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Strong verbal and numeric reasoning skills.

Other Skills:

Understanding of relevant UK rules and regulations.

Knowledge of industry best practices in customer service and conduct.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and project management abilities.

Self-motivated with a strong focus on customer service.

The Role

In this role, you'll ensure compliance with data protection legislation and assist in various legal matters. You'll support the Legal & Data Protection Officer in drafting contracts, managing legal cases, and keeping up with regulatory practices. As the first point of contact for Data Subject Requests, you'll ensure timely and accurate responses.
