Hays Technology are recruiting a dynamic and skilled Data Migration Specialist to join a large public sector organisation on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
Your new role
In your new role, you will play a crucial role in migrating data from Oracle databases to SQL databases. Your expertise will ensure a seamless transition, maintaining data integrity and optimising system performance.
Responsibilities:
Analyse existing Oracle databases and design migration strategies to SQL.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Oracle to SQL databases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful data migration.
Monitor and troubleshoot migration processes, addressing any issues promptly.
Document migration procedures and create comprehensive reports.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Proven experience in data migration projects, specifically from Oracle to SQL.
Strong SQL scripting skills.
Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
