Job Description for Data Management Accountant - 12 months Fixed Term

We are pleased to announce a new opportunity to join our client’s finance team as a Data Management Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Chart of Accounts, managing requested changes and additions, and providing guidance to colleagues in finance. Additionally, you will be tasked with testing and verifying systems and data as needed by the business, as well as uploading actual and budget data between finance systems. Furthermore, you will define reporting requirements, create specifications, collaborate with teams to implement solutions, and ensure successful testing and deployment to the business. You will also play a key role in fostering financial literacy among non-Finance colleagues and designing business support around customer needs and expectations. Although this position is remote, occasional travel to our client’s Head Office in Birmingham may be required. Candidates should therefore reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

Essential Skills, Person Specification & Competencies:

* Proficiency in Data Governance and Data Management Frameworks

* Previous experience handling intricate financial systems connected to various feeder systems

* Knowledge of financial controls and protective measures

* Familiarity with updating chart of accounts and hierarchies

* Preferred background in change management

* Knowledge of social housing and care sectors is a plus

* Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, including Senior Managers and Directors

* Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/CA graduate or equivalent finance professional with relevant experience.

Location:

Birmingham

Remote with occasional travel to the head office based in Birmingham, needs to be within commutable distance.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: £53,232 per annum

Working Hours: 35 hours per week
