Data Lead

6 Month Contract

Warwick/London (Largely remote role)

Job Purpose

To define implement and manage a data product from conception to final delivery all the way through the product lifecycle for domain of accountability. Responsible for achieving optimal results, conforming to standards for but not limited to quality, safety, and sustainability. To ensure compliance with the defined scope, performance, cost, ROI and schedule through agile delivery and ways of working.

Accountable for leveraging data to build products - through the full lifecycle - helping to deliver the right customer/user experiences, to the right users, at the right time, by driving the right decisions. Recognised as the data authority across Business Unit Entities (where Products have no natural home) and responsible for collaborating and finding ways to leverage data flows across the entire business unit landscape.

Manages the utilisation and application of a variety of data-driven techniques including, data engineering, using data visualisation for data storytelling and analysis, identification of unique relationships between variables using a variety of data science and analytical techniques, utilisation of machine learning algorithms and AI. An active member of the Data Guild and Community of Practice driving data democratization across the Business Unit.

Key Accountabilities

Product Management, managing and developing products or services through their full life cycle from inception, growth, maturity, decline to retirement.

§ Manages the full product lifecycle to ensure that, over time, the needs of customers/users continue to be met and that financial and other benefits are achieved.

§ Acts as owner/champion for one or more products or services.

§ Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate product development methods, tools, and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.

§ Analyses market and/or user research, feedback, expert opinion and usage data to understand needs and opportunities.

§ Develops product propositions and determines product positioning and variants for different customer and user segments. Prioritises product requirements and owns the product backlog.
