The Data Governance Manager role

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our growing team. You will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining our data governance framework, ensuring consistent data quality, and effectively communicating the importance of data across the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

Oversee data quality initiatives across operational and analytical functions.

Champion data privacy best practices and ensure adherence to relevant legislation.

Facilitate data governance committees and act as a focal point for data governance programs.

Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to foster a data-driven culture.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and recommend their adoption.

Manage and report on data governance projects.

 

Your profile

Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies.

Experience with records management and data lifecycle definition.

Proven ability to author data governance artefacts like policies and principles.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms and their data governance considerations.

Working knowledge of data privacy regulations and their impact on data management.

Experience implementing change management processes involving people, process, and technology.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders.

Ability to lead and facilitate data governance committees and forums.

Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry developments.
