Data Engineer

We are searching for an experienced Data Engineer for an outstanding technology focused business based in Devon.

The role is offered on a hybrid working basis, so to be considered for the vacancy you need to either live within a commutable distance of Exeter / East Devon or you will be able to relocate to the area. Please note this is NOT a remote role.

Working as a Data Engineer you will be helping to develop high quality and innovative data-driven software solutions. You will be joining a team that consists of a diverse range of technical experts, working collaboratively, to develop a number of market leading products for their customers.

We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in following Agile methodologies for the design, development and acceptance of the data elements within a complex software solution / software application.

Working with Business Analysts and Product Owners you will evaluate customer data and software requirements allowing you to understand each client's needs.

You will be involved in requirements analysis, solution scoping, defining specifications, data analysis, producing production code and code reviews. Ideally you will have a good understanding of design patterns and software development best practice especially with regards to scalability, performance, data quality and security.

To be a success in this role you require at least 4 to 5 years minimum experience working as a Data Engineer, utilising the following technologies, languages, tools and methodologies: -

Databricks
Python
TSQL / T-SQL
ETL
Test Automation
Unit Testing / Mocking
Refactoring
Agile/Scrum MethodologiesAny experience working with the following is an advantage but is NOT essential: -

PowerShell
Azure
AWS
PowerBI / Power BI
