Data Architect
Telford/ Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite
£600 per day inside ir35

We're looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a major public-sector programme, providing client-side leadership across enterprise data architecture, governance, solution assurance and strategic planning.
This is a senior architecture role where you'll work across a complex data estate spanning cloud, on-premise and SaaS environments, helping shape data strategy and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and business objectives.
What you'll be doing
Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, principles and patterns.
Provide architecture governance, design assurance and technical oversight.
Develop strategic roadmaps for data platforms and data products.
Assess the impact of business and technology change across the data landscape.
Work closely with enterprise architects, delivery teams, security teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
Support modern data capabilities including data products, metadata management, data fabric and data virtualisation.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance across architecture and engineering teams.
Support wider transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
What we're looking for
Strong experience in Enterprise Data Architecture within complex organisations.
Experience working across large-scale on-premise, cloud and SaaS environments.
Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure architecture.
Understanding of data governance, data integration, metadata management, data fabric and data virtualisation.
Proven experience in architecture governance and design assurance.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Experience working across multiple technical teams, suppliers and business functions.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Public-sector or regulated environment experience would be highly desirable.
