About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our Data Centre of Excellence on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working within a project environment, you’ll play an important role in delivering end to end data analysis for the business, from gathering requirements from stakeholders, to manipulating data in SQL and displaying and presenting information within dashboards. Using your understanding of insights, you’ll create documentation that can be implemented into Business as Usual, using your broad range of skills from data analytics and data manipulation to data presentation and stakeholder management.

As a Data Analyst, you’ll consult with business stakeholders to understand the business and the data they need to drive value and insights from. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with business stakeholders, you’ll provide subject matter expertise and guidance to increase insight capabilities and maximise added value from our data usage. You’ll design and build dashboards and reports that enable us to make predictions based on robust data and clear assumptions, supporting improved decision making and identifying opportunities to improve business outcomes.

About you

As a Data Analyst, you’ll have the ability to cultivate and sustain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. You’ll have excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. You’ll have strong reasoning skills, with the capability to evaluate and interpret large and complex datasets, identify trends and patterns, and derive actionable insights to support business objectives.

You’ll also have:

Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and optimise queries for data extraction, transformation, and evaluation. (essential)

*

Extensive experience in Power BI (or comparable) for dashboarding and reporting, including the development of interactive and visually compelling dashboards to drive data-driven decision-making. (essential)

*

Proven track record of successfully delivering strategic data projects within the insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry (highly desirable).
