Data Analyst

Outside IR35 - Hybrid working

We have partnered with a leading financial services organisation who have recently undertaken a large integration project. Therefore, we are searching for an experienced Data Analyst who has worked within the financial services sector, ideally within investment management, wealth management and asset management. The Data Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to facilitate the seamless integration of data from diverse systems into a unified Data Warehouse as part of a broader integration programme.

Role responsibilities:

Source Data Identification: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document source data available across the systems landscape
Data Transformation: Work closely with data engineers and developers to design and implement data transformation processes, ensuring accurate and efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) procedures.
Data Model Definition: Assist in defining a unified data model for the Group, leveraging industry best practices, and aligning with business objectives to support reporting, analytics, and decision-making processes.
Data Governance: Contribute to the establishment of data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the integrated data warehouse environment.
Documentation and Communication: Document data mapping rules, transformation logic, and data model specifications, and effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and progress updates to project stakeholders and team members.
Required skills:

Proficiency in SQL, data profiling tools, and data modelling tools.
A firm grasp of the principles of ETL, data flow and source-to-target mapping using batch or real-time processes.
Knowledge of Data Warehouse / Lake principles and design.
Proficiency in Logical and Physical Data Model creation and maintenance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work in a team-oriented environment.
Desirable skills:

Knowledge of, or has worked within, an ISO 27001 accredited organisation and awareness of information security requirements.
Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR, SOX) is desirable.
