Futures have been supporting Digital Transformation projects for the past 25 years, working with some of the UK’s most complex and challenging organisations, from central government to local police forces, manufacturing and FMCG giants to local authorities and NHS Trusts. We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join their newly strengthened internal IT department. This role is essential for ensuring the robustness of the company's comprehensive technical services against both current and emerging cyber threats. It involves hands-on duties such as implementing and maintaining SOC infrastructure, as well as developing and managing a secure infrastructure around the company's ERP System (Dynamics 365).

Monitor, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities from various sources
Assist in the technical design, implementation, and upkeep of security infrastructure and policies
Collaborate with the IT Department to defend the organization effectively and pragmatically, following established policies, procedures, and best practices
Document and continuously improve security procedures and protocols
Investigate security incidents and implement preventative measures for the future
Troubleshoot network issues, manage firewalls, implement network policies and procesures

Proven experience in a cyber and information security role
Knowledgeable in key security standards such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials, with the ability to adapt to evolving security principles
Comprehensive understanding of technologies including EDR, vulnerability scanners, log monitoring, DNS filtering, SIEM systems, etc
Proficient with IDS, IPS, network segregation, and network access control
Experience with IAM, PAM, and privileged password management, particularly with MS Active Directory
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders
