Customer Support/Material Planner

Desford (LE9) - office based, but currently working 2 days a week from home

Initial 3 month contract - potential to extend for the right person as long as the business need is there!

Hours: 37.5 a week

Working times: 08.00 start time Mon-Fri, regular early finish on Fridays (this is rota’d, for cover)

Up to £15.00 per hour PAYE (umbrella contract rates also available)

We’re looking for a Customer Support/Material Planner person to join our globally renowned client’s Customer Support and Supply Chain Team in Desford. Working as part of a diverse and friendly team supporting suppliers and end customers, this team are supplying to other client sites manufacturing facilities. This is an excellent opportunity with a Fortune 100 company if you have a background in Customer Service within manufacturing/engineering Supply Chain, and strong Excel skills (you’ll need to be able to create pivot tables and do v look ups), this could be the opportunity you are looking for…

What will the Customer Support/Material Planner do?

Assist customers, ensuring relationships are developed and any queries are resolved with pace
Enter and manage Customer Orders (including backorder management)
Collaborate with customers via phone/email/Teams and online tools
Organise and coordinate required materials and parts with global suppliers
This work is analytical and requires a problem-solving mindset with the drive to serve customers and exceed expectations
What skills and experience does the Customer Support/Material Planner need?

A strong communicator who is confident in working with suppliers and customers
Analytical intelligence: able to anticipate/stop issues arising by identifying possible risks & challenges
Proficient user in Excel - you’ll need to be able to create pivot tables and do v look ups
MRP system experience (e.g. SAP, Sage, Navision etc)
Ability to thrive under pressure, in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations
Work well in a team dynamic but also as an individual contributor
Interpersonal & Relationship Building skills to collaborate & connect well with with others
Organisational, Time Management & Prioritisation skills
