About Barton:

Founded in Birmingham in 1932 as the ‘Barton Rivet Company’, we relocated to Droitwich Spa in 1950, and in 2006 moved to our current 55,000 sq. ft facility. Position overview:

Optimas is currently searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Customer Services & Purchasing Co-ordinator for our site in Droitwich. The vacancy is currently maternity cover for a minimum of 6 months fixed term contract, 37 hours per week.

This position reports to The Engineering Services Manager.

Main responsibilities:

* Customer liaison with respect to; enquiries, sales queries, quotations, orders, samples

* Controlling the purchase of production and non-production parts

* Liaison and co-ordination of details with other departments to ensure customers’ requirements are always met

* Purchasing of raw materials, sundries, and factored products

* Negotiating with suppliers to ensure competitive prices through benchmarking existing costs.

* Understand, develop, and promote the Company’s business objectives and participate with total enthusiasm and commitment to achieve and exceed them

* Ensure that you fully understand your work requirements and duties and highlight any training needs and requirements to enable you to undertake your duties

Skills and Qualifications required:

* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Office 365. Especially Excel, Word, and Outlook

* Good communication skills (both written and oral)

* Accurate and tidy record keeping

* GCSE Level English, Maths or equivalent
