Job Title: Service Advisor

Location: Ealing, fully office based

Hourly rate £19.46 PAYE / £25.34 UMB Per Hour

Contract Length: 3-month contract (possibility of extension)

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 35 hours

Are you passionate about helping people and delivering outstanding customer service? We are looking for a dedicated Service Advisor to join our Customer & Transactional Services team.

As the first point of contact for residents accessing council services, you will play a key role in supporting customers, understanding their needs, and helping them access the right services and solutions. You'll empower residents to use online services confidently while providing a welcoming, professional, and empathetic customer experience.

About the Role

In this varied and rewarding position, you will:

Act as the first point of contact for customers visiting community hubs and council locations.
Provide accurate information, advice, and guidance on a wide range of council services.
Support residents in accessing and navigating online council services.
Help customers develop their digital skills and confidence.
Book appointments and signpost customers to specialist services when required.
Direct residents to local community and voluntary organisations for additional support.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and feedback.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple council departments.
Contribute to continuous service improvement and embrace new ways of working.About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is empathetic, patient, and customer-focused.
Can remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging or distressed customers.
Is confident using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
Has experience working in a customer-facing environment.
Can work independently while also being a strong team player.
Understands the importance of confidentiality, data protection, and information security.
Is digitally confident and able to support others in using online services.
Has strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
