We're looking for a professional and customer-focused Customer Services Advisor to join a busy customer service team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills who enjoys speaking with people, solving problems and delivering a high standard of service.
As the first point of contact, you'll handle a wide variety of telephone and email enquiries from members of the public, police forces and partner agencies, ensuring every interaction is handled professionally, accurately and efficiently.
The Role
As a Customer Services Advisor, you will:
Act as the first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries.
Provide clear, accurate advice and resolve customer queries at the earliest opportunity.
Manage customer expectations while delivering a high standard of service.
Escalate complex enquiries to the appropriate department with detailed supporting information.
Assist customers with application queries and service requests.
Process payments securely using debit and credit card payment systems where required.
Accurately interrogate multiple IT systems to obtain relevant information.
Maintain detailed and accurate records across a range of computer systems.
Support colleagues by validating work, providing guidance and assisting with training where required.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR and data protection legislation at all times.About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Previous experience in a customer service or contact centre environment.
Excellent telephone manner and written communication skills.
Experience handling sensitive or challenging customer enquiries professionally.
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Experience working with multiple IT systems and maintaining accurate electronic records.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
Experience working in a professional office environment carrying out administrative tasks.Qualifications
Essential:
QCF Level 2 (or equivalent) including English and Maths, or relevant work experience demonstrating an equivalent level of knowledge.Desirable:
Customer Service qualification at Level 2 or above.Training & Development
Full training will be provided, including ongoing professional development and role-specific learning. There is also the opportunity to undertake a funded Customer Service apprenticeship for suitable candidates.
Additional Information
Participation in a rota to provide cover during office opening hours is required.
Future opportunities may include shift work, including evenings, nights and weekends, with appropriate enhancements.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo the appropriate vetting process.
