Location:      Stafford College
Salary:          Total Overall package of up to £57,440 in year 1 as follows:
                      Salary (Lecturer) - £30,000 – £40,000
                      Salary (Curriculum Leader) - £34,414 – £44,000
                      Employer Pension Contributions up to £12,584
                      Golden Hello Payment: upto £5,000  OR
                      DfE bursary of upto £6,000 (if in 1st 5 years of teaching
                       - subject to terms & conditions)
Holiday:        52 Days per year (Inclusive of Bank hol and Christmas   
                       closure)

The group is currently home to a population of over 5,000 full-time students and around 500 students on higher education programmes. We have over 4,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual who will play a crucial role in realising the department’s strategic objectives. You will be an inspiring lecturer with a background in Electrical Building Services.  You will also have the ability to deliver varied, high quality and imaginative sessions and have a record of good achievement rates.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity towards a variety of learner needs and support the delivery team with a range of innovative teaching approaches to enable learners to reach their full potential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver a flexible and innovative curriculum that is responsive to feedback from current learners and anticipates likely changes in demand from future learners.

Deliver excellent standards of teaching and learning across all areas within the curriculum area.

Undertake the day-to-day co-ordination of staff within the course team so that the College can achieve its overall objective of being excellent in all areas.

To deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate.

To secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met.

To support the design and development of T level Building Services Engineering provision and Higher Technical Construction programmes.

To teach on a range of full-time, part-time and apprenticeship programmes at Level 3 - 5 in Engineering.

To support the design and development of programmes in Engineering, which includes the new technical qualifications (T Levels), and higher technical qualifications at Levels 4 - 5, whilst leading a highly effective teaching team in this area of provision.

Required Skills and Experience:

Has qualifications at Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant Construction discipline, and/or has recent and relevant industrial experience in related topics.  Qualifications up to Level 6 would be desirable.

Has relevant experience in teaching/training and skills development.

Has /holds the relevant industry standard certificates (JIB Gold Card/ AM2) would be desirable.

Is experienced in a core field of BSE [Electrical] and has an understanding of technology development in this field.

Has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).

Has industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.

Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
