Job Purpose:

Shift Technician needs to be a team player who carries out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works to building plant, equipment, and systems in accordance with agreed service levels and responds to site engineering emergencies, undertake small installation works, repairs to building fabric and handyman duties. Responding speedily to fault/breakdown requests and efficiently undertaking routine scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment is of paramount importance.

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Shift Supervisor to join the team located in Canary Wharf. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing the operational delivery.

Key Tasks:

Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations and agreed service level agreements
Respond to Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed
Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems
Ensure that Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard
Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant
Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of electronic recording on REALM.
Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments (including Dynamics Risk assessments) are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised and comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes
To develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE services staff and clients' staff
Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required
Ensure a professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times
Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning
Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance tasks as required within across HV and LV distribution systems, associated plant / equipment and HVAC mechanical cooling / heating systems as determined by the CMMS system's work orders
Building walk-rounds, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU's and utilities
Investigate faults, identify causes and effect remedies
Prepare accurate / timely reports as required
Ensure corrective / repair works are carried out in accordance with current regulations
Assist when and where required with installation works
Participate in emergency call out roster providing cover for team member absences, as required
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio buildings their layouts, functions and complexities
Establish and develop trusting relationships with Facilities Managers, Client staff and representatives
Endorse day to day and future compliance to safe working practices, quality standards conformity and best practice methods
Volunteer ideas / initiatives that contribute to the service levels and delivery
12 hour rotating shift
Awareness of Change processes and Critical works being undertaken on the premises.
Ensure that correct PPE is being worn and utilised at all times.
Completion of Risk Assessments as required.

A reasonable level of physical fitness will be required as the job entails manual handling both within and between buildings

Knowledge

Knowledge of Critical cooling systems and SLA's / KPI's within a critical environment
Knowledge of basic Air Conditioning and humidity control
Practical knowledge of H&S requirements inc RA's, Lock out Tag out, Permits to work.

Experience

City & Guilds Electrical Competency Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent
Good building services knowledge
Critical Environment Experience
Good Customer relationship skills
Working knowledge of "Permit to work" systems
Understand and interpret technical drawings / processes
Experience of CMMS and BMS systems
Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a similar organisation
Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities
Time served electrical apprenticeship (desirable)
Experience of working in banking environment (desirable)
HV switching qualification/experience current AP (desirable)
18th Edition IEE Regulations (desirable)
Experience of Microsoft Office applications (desirable)
ACoPs L8 (desirable)
