Credit Controller | Leeds | Up to £33,000 | On-site – flexible start and finish times
We are recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team in Leeds, in a role where you can genuinely make a difference.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end credit control position, managing your own workload and taking responsibility for collecting outstanding payments. You’ll be dealing directly with customers, so a professional, understanding and empathetic approach is really important.
The role would suit someone who is confident having conversations about payments but understands that care and empathy can make a real difference when working with customers.
The Role
Managing your own ledger and carrying out end-to-end credit control
Contacting customers by telephone and email to collect outstanding payments
Building positive relationships with customers
Understanding individual circumstances and working with customers to find appropriate solutions
Monitoring outstanding balances and taking action to reduce aged debt
Allocating payments and maintaining accurate account records
Resolving queries and investigating discrepancies
Working closely with internal teams to resolve payment issues
Maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates on outstanding debt
About You
Has previous credit control experience
Is confident managing customer conversations around payments
Has a calm, patient and empathetic approach
Is comfortable having potentially difficult conversations
Has strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Can manage their own workload and meet deadlines
Is confident using Excel and finance systems
Wants to work in a role where they can make a genuine difference
