Position Available: Credit Controller (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Gloucester
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Our client in Gloucester is seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to oversee their customer base and ensure timely payments while taking necessary actions to address outstanding debts.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with a team of 4 Credit Controllers to minimize and manage debt.
Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
* Work closely with sales representatives across different accounts.
* Promptly follow up with debtors to secure payments.
* Monitor payment patterns and identify any deviations.
* Take ownership of the debt recovery process, including documentation, query resolution, and issuing dunning letters.
* Conduct credit checks on new customers using reference agencies.
* Develop and propose strategies to reduce outstanding debt, including negotiating payment plans.
* Recommend writing off unrecoverable balances as needed.
* Assist in other tasks as required to support various business functions.
Requirements:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
* Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and accuracy are essential.
* Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Polite and positive telephone manner.
* Familiarity with pre-action protocols for debt claims is advantageous.
