Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for a Spanish Speaking Credit Controller to join their finance team on a fixed-term contract basis.
 
 This is a key position focused on managing customer accounts across Mediterranean regions, ensuring timely collection of payments, reducing overdue balances, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role requires a proactive and organised individual who can work independently, communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, and manage a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

Manage customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
Proactively chase overdue balances to reduce aged debt and minimise bad debt exposure
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer and internal teams
Set up and amend customer accounts accurately within internal systems
Process customer payments, banking, and account adjustments
Administer and process Direct Debit files for European accounts
Prepare and issue customer statements, invoices, and credit notes
Review held orders and support credit decision processes
Investigate and resolve payment queries and account discrepancies
Liaise with customers regarding underpayments, overpayments, and remittance information 
Required Experience

Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable, or sales ledger
Fluent Spoken and written Spanish and English
Proven track record of reducing overdue accounts and improving cash collection
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
Confident working independently or working as part of a team
Good numerical and analytical skills

Methodical and highly organised in their work
Confident communicating with customer and colleagues at all levels
Experience using ERP or finance systems such as NetSuite (desirable)
Additional knowledge of European language (desirable)
