Senior Credit Controller, £30,000-£35,000+benefits, Leatherhead (Hybrid)
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Control Senior to join our finance team. The Credit Control Senior will play a key role in supporting the credit control function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining strong relationships with our clients/customers.
Responsibilities for the Senior Credit Controller:
Oversee the credit control process, including monitoring outstanding debts, chasing payments, and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
Develop and implement credit control procedures and policies to minimize bad debts and improve cash flow.
Review and assess credit applications, establish credit limits, and make recommendations for credit approvals or rejections.
Conduct regular credit reviews and risk assessments of existing customers to identify potential credit risks and take appropriate actions.
Prepare and analyze aged debtor reports, provide insights into debtor trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, including sales, customer service, and finance teams, to resolve queries and address customer concerns effectively.
Mentor and support junior members of the credit control team, providing guidance and training as needed.
Skills needed for the Senior Credit Controller:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred not mandatory.
Proven experience in credit control or a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
In-depth knowledge of credit control principles, practices, and regulations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership qualities with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
